We
take all the stress out of your wedding because we make
all the arrangements, and we LOVE to help plan
weddings. We'll want to know your favorite colors and
any preferences you have. We'll do everything we can to
make your wedding day just perfect for you.
You can
write your own vows, or include Bible verses or poetry
in your ceremony. You can make your ceremony very
personal. You'll arrange those details with the
Wedding Officiant and we'll help you with everything
else!
Want to do something special -- sand ceremony, unity
candle, other ideas. Have your wedding the way
YOU want it to be!
Before your wedding
ceremony, all
you need to do is to
obtain
your marriage license from any Clerk of Court Office in
Virginia. You can even do that here in Staunton on
the morning of your wedding if it's a weekday. Both of you need to be present in order
to obtain your marriage license, and it is good for 60
days. There is no waiting period. We are
four blocks from the building where the Clerk of the
Court is located so you can come to Staunton, get
your marriage license, and then come to us for your
ceremony.

Our Wedding Packages give you the 2nd night (and any
other nights) at a reduced
rate!
Our Packages (for groups of 25 guests or less) include small receptions, which are
limited to cake, beverages, and chocolates.
You may add extras, which we are happy to
furnish for you, at an additional
cost, which can be added to the regular Package rate.
This would include anything other than what we
offer in our Packages. Our
receptions are limited in time to a 2-hour time
frame, and we furnish cleanup and
housekeeping immediately following the
reception. If there are 10 or more
guests, there is a "clean-up fee" of $50.00 but
for fewer than 10 guests, there is no charge for
cleaning up after the wedding reception. Since you
can personalize your wedding and reception, we
can adjust the rate to allow for any extras you
may want to have. The rate is also determined by
the number of guests, as noted in each Package
description.
For larger groups (between 25 - 50 guests), we
have a special pricing structure which allows
for use of our location at the main inn of the B&B for your ceremony, reception, or

Why do so many couples decide to elope?
These days, elopement weddings can be quite elegant -- even
elaborate. Or you may choose to have a warm and
casual wedding. You can design your wedding to be just the
way you want it to be.
More and more couples are deciding to elope

of the family that may live a long distance away.

elopement packages, a beautiful classic wedding can

If you, or someone you care about is

want to look into the alternative for an elegant or
casual elopement.
You can have your ceremony in the Living Room in front
of the fireplace -- or outside in any of our several
gardens -- or
you may want to choose a "Romeo and Juliet" ceremony at
the Downtown Suites where the covered porch overlooks
the private back yard.
Our favorite outdoor spot for your wedding
ceremony (weather permitting) is in the
Lower Garden at the Main Inn. Walk
through the arbor (which you can decorate
any way you like or leave it just as it is
which is an inviting arch into the private
garden). From the Lower Garden, you
will enter under the arbor into the special
little "Secret Garden" -- and, if you are
inviting guests, they can either sit or
stand in the Lower Garden.
We can provide seating for up to 25 guests
with a nominal rental fee for the chairs.
You can choose to rent chairs from
elsewhere, if you prefer.
The Lower Garden can easily accommodate up
to 50 people.
There are so many locations from which to
choose so that your ceremony will fit your
personal preferences!

Did you know:
It was the
accepted practice in Babylon 4,000
years ago that for a month after
the wedding, the bride's father would supply
his son-in-law with all the mead he could
drink.
Mead is a honey beer and because their
calendar was lunar based, this period was
called the honey month, which we know today
as the honeymoon.

stay for a few nights following your wedding ceremony, you shall
receive a very special nightly rate as our honeymoon gift to you
even if you only add on one extra night!

Cancellation
Policy for Weddings:
If we are going to have something engraved for you,
there is a
minimum deposit of $200.00 when you book your wedding which is not refundable if you cancel.
This deposit is applied toward your wedding.
Licensed Wedding
Officiant charge is extra. They currently charge $100.
The purpose of an elopement package or a small destination wedding at The
Staunton Choral Gardens B & B is to create an intimate, relaxing and memorable
event without the stress and expense of a large ceremony. Ceremonies can be
performed either in the Front Parlor of the Main House (in front of the
fireplace), on the balcony overlooking the courtyard, outdoors in any of our
beautiful gardens which include: the courtyard/water garden area, the lower
garden under the tree, the covered swing area, the balcony overlooking the
courtyard, or on the porch of "The Carriage House."
