Parties or other functions are not allowed at the house unless with prior written approval.  There is an additional "location charge" if using this property for a party or special get-together.

This is a pet-friendly house -- but pets must NOT be left unattended unless left in their crate.  We also require that all pets be on flea and tick preventative and up-to-date on vaccinations.

If you bring your own pet crate, you may leave your pet in his/her crate within the house when you are out and about.

The house has a fenced-in yard in the back of the property but we don't advise leaving your dog unattended in the backyard.

  You may want to take your pet with you when you are out and about, especially since so many of our friendly downtown shopkeepers welcome pets!

There is an *additional pet security deposit refundable after a satisfactory inspection of the house post-departure. 

Pet Fee:  $20.00/night + tax (for one dog); only $5.00/night extra for an additional dog.

We book for the weekend (Friday night and all day Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday until a check-out time at 11:00 a.m.) -- $550/weekend + tax (3 - 6 people) or $400/weekend + tax (Special Double Occupancy Rate).

There is a $20 pet fee for one dog and only $5 for the second dog (per night).

$1375/entire week (2 nights FREE based on regular rate).

$3500/entire month (or less if booking for more than one month).

Taxes are always extra.

Forms of payment:  cash, credit card (V or MC), or personal check for guests booking early (if it is received at least a month in advance to have time to clear the banks).  If using a credit card, there is a 3.5% credit card processing fee.  No c.c. processing fee for the Special Double Occupancy Rate.

To hold your reservation, if you are booking well in advance, a deposit of 50%, or the total for your stay, is due.   To get your reservation "booked" so that we can hold it for you, we must receive your deposit within 10 days of you making your reservation.  The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival if paying by check or you can pay in cash when you arrive.

Suitable for children over 12;  and this property is suitable for dogs -- although there are certain restrictions which we can discuss and make sure it's okay for you and your dog.

The security deposit is $250 (but is not required for the Special Double Occupancy Rate).  *If you bring a pet, the security deposit is $500.  Your security deposit is refundable post-departure, pending a satisfactory inspection by our housekeeper (no damages).

We do not charge our guests a cleaning fee or a linens charge . . . and we will have your house all set up for you with your beds made and your towels in the bathroom for you so you'll be comfortable the moment you arrive and not have to make your own beds!

Things to Do In Historic Downtown Staunton:

We have many fine dining restaurants, some casual restaurants (4 with outdoor seating), several coffee shops, an ice cream parlor, a gourmet pizza place and others.

There are 2 movie theaters downtown PLUS the Shakespeare Theater.

There are 8 art galleries downtown.  Receptions on Friday evenings are very special and you can meet the artists.  Fourth Fridays in Downtown Staunton are lively events.  The art galleries are open late and some provide live music, food, and of course beautiful art.

Enjoy live glass blowing at one of the galleries downtown.

There is a FREE walking tour of the historic downtown area on Saturday mornings.

There are special guided tours of historic Staunton, available by appointment.

The Farmers' Market is located downtown:  Saturday mornings from April - November.

The TROLLEY only costs 25 cents and stops near our B&B.  It goes over to the city park and all around downtown (about a 25-minute loop, which runs continuously throughout the day)!

There are FREE concerts in the park in July and August (Monday - Thursday evenings).

There are many other special events in Downtown Staunton throughout the year!

Things to Do In and Around the City of  Staunton:

Visit The Frontier Culture Museum at the edge of town (approximately an hour walking tour of 1600's, 1700's, and 1800's farmhouses, barns, and gardens from several European countries as well as an African home and an early American home).

Tour the gardens of Andre Viette's Farm and Nursery

Wade's Mill is an interesting place to visit and the drive through the country is beautiful

There are many vineyards to explore including a recently-opened one just outside of Staunton.

There are numerous antique shops between Staunton and Harrisonburg.  Enjoy the drive and stop all along the way.  (One antique center is said to be the largest antique mall on the East coast . . . and it's still growing . . . soon to be the largest antique mall in the US, if all goes as planned!)

There are antique shops in Stuarts Draft and Waynesboro, which are neighboring towns.

There is another Farmers' Market on Wednesday mornings in Verona, a neighboring town (in addition to the Farmers' Market which is downtown on Saturday mornings).

Things to Do within a 30-minute to 45-minute drive from Staunton in the Beautiful Shenandoah Valley:

There are many wineries (we have a coupon for free wine tastings at one of them) to visit throughout the Shenandoah Valley and others are just across the mountain in Central Virginia.

Beautiful caves are throughout the Shenandoah Valley.

Drive along the Skyline Drive and/or The Blue Ridge Parkway.

There are hiking trails along the parkways (with beautiful vistas and lovely waterfalls).

Monticello is about a 45-minute drive (Charlottesville).

The Virginia Horse Center is about a 30-minute drive (Lexington).

Cross the beautiful mountains west of Staunton for a special scenic drive.

The annual Maple Festival in Monterey is quite special.

There are many colleges and universities in all the towns and cities nearby.  Staunton is centrally located between Harrisonburg and Lexington, with Charlottesville to the east, and Monterey to our west.
