The Carriage House is one of our pet-friendly accommodations -- with a large indoor kennel!

 

Enjoy sipping a drink on the front porch or reading a book in the lower shade garden (which is just below The CarriageHouse).

The Carriage House is an 800-square-foot separate building with many special features listed below:

Pictured above is the Living Room in The Carriage House (including a full-size sleeper sofa & upholstered chair as well as a glass-topped dining table and antique dining chairs), very high ceilings, exposed beams, and a hand-made staircase leading to a balcony on the second floor.

The huge KING bedroom is on the second floor with a spacious seating area which overlooks the gardens.

Special luxurious features include:

Thick down featherbed (can be removed if you are allergic to down)

Down comforters (can be replaced with other comforters)

A microwave and small refrigerator

TWO TVs -- Cable TV with VCR on the first floor AND . . .

High-definition cable TV upstairs so you can view TV from bed and/or from a seating area in front of the free-standing corner fireplace

Separate heat pump furnishes central heat and central air conditioning

Choice of breakfast in the main house dining room -- OR "Breakfast in a Basket"  delivered to your door the night before, which consists of fruit, yogurt, and baked goodies/pastries (advance notice required).

Well-behaved pets are welcome to come with you (this suite only and in one of our Vacation Rental Houses, "The Craftsman-Style House", as well) and they can even stay in their own special kennel area (measuring 6' x 4'), which is attached to the suite -- or many guests bring their own crate to leave their pets in when they are out and about.  We are happy to have your pet stay with you in the C.H. as long as you don't leave him unattended.  Please discuss with Innkeeper when making your reservations to learn full details.

Legend tells us that General Robert E. Lee boarded his horse in this carriage house -- most likely when his daughters were attending a private school across the street, Stuart Hall.  It still has the very high ceilings, some original exposed brick wall, the old beams -- but everything else has been totally renovated and restored.

NIGHTLY RATES (based on double occupancy):
